Watching ‘The Mummy’

Hello people,

Another movie trip this week. This time I watched another monster movie, which if you read or looked above was the film The Mummy. Starring Tom Cruise.

I liked this film, but that goes without saying. I like just about all movies. But what matters is whether or not I think you like this movie. Uhh… I think you can, if you want to, but it may be tough.

What are the good things about this movie?

The mommy is creepy at times, especially at the beginning and menacing when it needs to be. There are also a deal of underlings that the mummy can spawn using its powers which are also cool in how they move.

I liked a lot of the Egyptian mythology stuff, which includes the god Set and an underground tomb/prison set in Iraq. Action pieces were also good, especially in the beggining with the warzone and the aeroplane stuff.

The things that I see being troublesome with this movie is the ambition. Some of the shots and sequences aren’t worked on as carefully as they could have been. Some make up effects, character stuff, special effects related and a plot line about Cruise’s connection to the Mummy. The quality of a lot of things shift through the movie where one second they will be very good to the next where there are noticeable differences. The ending portion is a clear indication of this. Things happen in quick succession and alot of interesting ideas are devoured by their execution.

This film sets up what the studio has titled the Dark Universe. What does this mean? Well there are easter eggs that point to the old black and white universal monster movies. The universal monster movies are great and the idea that they will be bringing them back is cool, but watching this movie it seems pretty clear that they aren’t making the same kinds of movies. People who love flicks like Creature from the Black Lagoon or The Wolfman, probably won’t like this movie, at least not for the same reasons.

In total, I am looking forward to more Dark Universe movies, but I think I’m in the segment of people who can enjoy have lower standards. Any monster movies coming down the pike get me pretty excited so a film where the Mummy goes up against Dracula, oooh boy. I remember when Frankenstein, the wolf man and Dracula got into it with those greats Abbott and Costello.

Thanks for reading and good luck with everything.

No more bad things

Hello people,

Do you need a safe space? You should probably leave if you do. I don’t plan on saying anything too over the top, but truth is with my limited social experiences, and the fact is that I don’t know what is going to have you checking all of your closets and hiding under the blankets. So you should move forward cautiously, this is not safe ground you walk on buddy.

I don’t understand people wanting things to be safe, not in a world with an internet. When I think about what heinous things I saw when I was younger, things like foreign movies on the more obscure chanels, or the obscene pornography that kept poping up on my browser even to this day.

I think deep down everbody hates how they were raised, because that has to be it. They had people around them who their parents didn’t protect them from. Either that or the world is full of paranoid dudes who think everyone is going to ruin their progeny, so these safe spaces exist to sort of back trace all the damage, when they finally find they have a serial killer roaming through their home.

But who knows. I’m not the dude that should be looked at as the example of what goes right by not restricting things for young people.

Universities are apparently safe spaces, and I am not a smart enough person to be able to figure out why. I had no friends at university, no people to talk to, no groups to join, for the whole time I was there, the only thing I had to go by was the learning, absorbing ideas, reading, writing, using the dirty internet, all the fun stuff. I don’t understand why people would not want any ideas, no matter how foreign or hurtful to come about. If people are racist, better to see it.

I understand if a teacher walks in to the middle of the crowded lecture room and sceams the triggers “Rape” and “child abuse”, maybe you would need to look a little closer at his reasons for doing so. But what kind of system ever let that happen? Your more likely to get that from some pious protester or some dude getting the ladies riled up. Who gets blamed if that happens? The teachers.

Students want to be protected so they can go about their feel good gatherings and sex orgies, which I’m not invited to, meanwhile their parents can blame the schools and the teachers when things go wrong. Why can’t I just hang out and come to the parties, I’m not racist.

Isn’t it better for these things to come up in universty, where they can be discussed, or explained by a lecturer who is capable of going through things that they have been through several semesters before hands.

Well university was fun in any case. I’d look at all the pretty girls and imagine them giving me smooches.

Of course I don’t really care about any of this safety stuff. I’ve been ruined by the internet, an untame place where there is no one to explain things or guide you into the mire. The same thing will happen to the rest of you.

Thanks for reading and good luck with everything.

 Word up

Hello people,

Does this thing have a point? Not yet. I started doing ths hoping that something would catch. Maybe I could be funny or something, but it hasn’t been working. I don’t feel up to much. I haven’t been doing much editing of my older blogs and when I read them they just look like the kinds of things you would find of soup cans or something.

So what’s the deals?

Words yo. I’m getting those words on the page, the web page that is ha (desperate/panicked laughter), just slamming them down like a whole bag of marbles or something. Uh, no thinking, just from the hip, and right there on the table. Bang.

Lotta words? Whatup?

I think some smart guy said you have to keep writing until you run out of bad words and start writing some good ones. If they didn’t, then I just said it. If they said it better, then good for them. Point is, these are my bad words spewing forth from my blog.

But how can I do this? How can I care so little?

Wow that’s a lot of questions buddy, but I get what you’re saying. If I keep throwing out words like this eventually I’ll just have a big pile of junk that nobody wants to look at. Like my own personal sewage plant. Yeah you are probably right, but you are forgetting one crucial thing, I don’t have any friends, and a man without any friends is a man without any standards. So I’d be happy to see my sewage pile grow in the hopes that someone stumbles upon it someday just to be driven to insanity because monsters like me exist in the world.

Going forward I’m probably going to try editing more stuff, but who knows, it could be I won’t edit anything. Like I said I don’t really care, and I may also be a little lazy when it comes to this blog. But yeah, hopefully this thing will start getting better, but in the meantime, here are a bunch of words which may or may not be put into an order that makes sense, either way you are welcome. Whoops, I meant to say I am sorry. Sorry.

Thanks for reading and good luck with everything.
